LIONS CLUB OF T.NAGAR

Activities report for the month of July 2009

Respected Members in Lionism,

On 5th July 2009, a General Ayurvedic Medical Camp conducted by our Club.  Ln VSBSunder – DC Activites, Ln Sadasivam, Region Chariman inaugurated the Camp.  Around 115 patients were given treatment and medicines worth over Rs.9000 were distributed in the Camp and the same day Ln VS Ravikumar organized a Dine with Divine Programme at Anbukkarangal at a cost of Rs.4500/-

We have distributed Note Books for 210 Underprivileged Students at a Cost of Rs.40000 / (Sponsored by Ln A Paramasivam Rs.28000/- L/c T Nagar 5000 and Ln K Ravikumar Rs.7000/-  Also distributed CD's and Books worth over Rs.5000 by Ln B Shrinivaas. Beneficiary school is Government Higher Secondary School, Pudukuppam Village, Tindivanam Taluk. Project Done on 11th July 2009.   Former vice Chancellor of Anna University, Shri Kalanidhi and Mrs. Thilakavathi IPS are the Chief Guests of the Function.

 On 17th of july .We have distributed Uniform Sets to underprivileged Students of our Adopted Corporation School at a Cost of Rs,9500 per month / Out of which our Region Chairman, MJF Ln Sadasivam had contributed Rs.1000/-.  Our First Vice District Governor, MJF Ln R Ravichandran was the Chief Guest.

We have conducted a very successful Eye Screening camp on 26th of july at MCN School, Habibullah Road, T Nagar. The cost of the project is 20,000/- Total Number of Persons Screened is 170 and those were benefited with provision of Spectacles is 75 and Those undergone cataract operations is 13. Project is done alongwith Udhi Eye Hospitals, Alwarpet, Chennai 600017.  Over 25 Lion members participated in the Camp.

The other successful camp is Diabetes, General Health Awareness camp done on 28th July 2009 at Vimal Jothi Shelters, Nelson Manickam Road, -  Beneficiaries are around 125 persons and all are ladies who were consultations on Diabetes, and other General Health Care.  This project done along with . Thulasi Pharma,  Cost of Project is Rs.10000 done on 28th July 2009.  Earlier, on 13th July 2009, a General Health Awarness Camp conducted at the same venue at a Cost of Rs.10000 again by Thulasi Pharma.  No. of Beneficiaries is around 60.

Ln N Sampathkumar  have paid rs.16480/-  as a School Fees and Cost of Books for a B.com Student who is financially poor And Past President Ln S Subramaniam also donated Rs.7000/- to a poor student.
And another School Fees to a Poor Student whose father affected by AIDS - the Cost of Project was Rs.10000 per month sponsored by Ln MJF T N Kumar.

Again at loyola college, at the initiative of Ln.T.N.Kumar, we had a General health awareness and Project on Chronic Pain to Students:  No. of Students benefited in this Project are 175 and cost of Project is Rs.15000 / The project done along with Tulasi Pharma and Loyola Institute of Business Administration.

Ln.Muralidharan & Ln.Ramesh have donated a computer, worth of Rs.20,000/- to our Ayur hospital.

And, We thank our President MJF Ln.K.Ravikumar for donating a Geycer to our hospital, the cost of the geyser is Rs.4500/-
